It's been a while since our last update, and we wanted to share what's been happening with our incredible Danny. As many of you know, Danny relapsed about a year after his initial cancer diagnosis. The past year has been filled with intense treatments, a few unexpected hospital stays, and some truly bright spots like celebrating his 18th birthday and watching him graduate high school – milestones we hold even closer to our hearts now.

Around February 21st, we noticed a lump on Danny's neck. Initially, the doctors were hopeful it was just a flare-up related to a cold he was fighting. We clung to that hope.

Unfortunately, that cold progressed into pneumonia, and on March 13th, the doctor ordered a CT scan to rule out any other concerns. Our worst fears were confirmed with those results. The tumor had returned to its original site in his chest, and there were also two new masses in the lymph nodes in his neck.

To say we were heartbroken doesn't even begin to describe the devastation we felt. Our Danny boy was facing a relapse. This news meant a completely different treatment plan, one that would be even more aggressive than what we initially anticipated for this next phase. It felt like starting over from day one.

On April 14th, to get a complete picture, Danny underwent a PET scan. Sadly, this scan confirmed the two masses in his neck and the tumor in his chest, and also revealed a new spot on his lung.

Throughout all of this, Danny has been an absolute trooper. His smile continues to shine through, a testament to his incredible spirit and resilience. However, we also know there are many dark and difficult moments, and he is truly fighting a courageous battle.

This week marks a significant step in his treatment. Danny is being hospitalized for five consecutive days of intense therapy, with the goal of achieving remission within the next month. And in this challenging time, we have a beacon of hope: our sister is a 100% match for his bone marrow transplant! This news has brought a much-needed ray of light into our lives.

We continue to be amazed by Danny's strength and are so grateful for the unwavering support from our family, friends, and everyone who has been following his journey. Your prayers, positive thoughts, and kindness mean the world to us. We will continue to keep you updated as we navigate this next chapter. Thank you for standing with us.
