Danny’s Final Days, Wrapped in Pain and Love: 6.16.25

This has been, by far, the hardest update to write. As many of you already know, Danny was called home. On Wednesday, June 4, we received the heartbreaking news that the cancer had spread to his brain and was now considered terminal. After everything Danny had already gone through, hearing that the cancer had spread, and that there was nothing more they could do, just felt unbelievably unfair.

His parents did everything they could to get him home as soon as possible. Thankfully, by Saturday, June 7, he was back in the place he felt most at peace. For a few precious days, Danny was right where he belonged, surrounded by the deep love and care of his closest family.

Danny was the type of boy who was always thinking of others. Even in his final days, he found ways to make everyone smile. It was almost as if he was gifting us some final laughs and “I love yous” to hold onto.

On the morning of June 12, Danny took his last breath. He passed peacefully at home, wrapped in the love of his sisters, mother, and father.

We are heartbroken beyond words, but so proud of the strength, grace, and light Danny carried throughout his life. At this time, we kindly ask that you give the immediate family some space as they begin to process this unimaginable loss. Your messages and love truly mean a lot, but right now, they need some quiet to grieve.
